Blue planet v plastic planet

Two thirds of our beautiful world is water, 40% of that water is plastic – scary huh? To combat this, I helped create and launch The Whent brand, a company that aims to rid the seas of plastic pollution. I created the brand, including the logo and visual identity, designed the bottles, executed a comms strategy, created the campaign/always on work and even did all the design word and copywriting myself.

Planet-friendly posts

Dozens of SoMe posts were produced, to get the core message of being ‘ocean-friendly’ in the core brand style. The idea was to arm the client with lots of content to roll out over the course of the year. Note: The Whent is a very small outfit, so doe not have a SoMe specialist devoting their time to delivering content.

Planet-friendly posters

The poster designs not only deliver clear ‘sustainability’ messaging, but do it in a hard-hitting, clean graphic way. The visual approach that I devised for the brand gave me endless ways to land key messaging in simple, low-cost production executions. This was crucial to The Whent.

Special bottles + cans

Limited edition bottle designs were created in honour of all the wonderful sea creatures effected by ocean pollution. In all, a series of 10 designs were imagined for bottles and cans, featuring lobsters, sea turtles, sea birds and dolphins to name but a few. A percentage of each sale was proposed as a donation to aligned charities. I did the ideation and the finished design work for these, keeping them aligned to the brand while having some fun visually.
